🧡 Ragi Nuts & Seeds Ladoo – A Wholesome Snack for Babies, Toddlers & Adults!

As a mom, I'm always on the lookout for snacks that are quick to make, full of nutrients, and most importantly—something my child will actually eat without dramatic negotiations. That’s when these Ragi Nuts & Seeds Ladoos came to the rescue.

They’re:

  • Soft enough for babies

  • Nutritious enough for growing toddlers

  • Tasty enough for adults (yes, even dads sneak these!)

  • And mess-free enough to be lunchbox/travel-friendly

Let’s dive into why you’ll fall in love with them.

💡 Why Ragi?

Ragi, also known as finger millet, is a wonder grain especially for growing kids.
It’s:

  • Naturally rich in calcium (for bone strength)

  • Loaded with iron (for better hemoglobin)

  • High in fiber (great for digestion)

  • Gluten-free and easy to digest

When paired with good fats from ghee, the energy from dates, and the goodness of nuts & seeds, it turns into a superfood ladoo that’s as functional as it is delicious.

📝 Ingredients You’ll Need:
  • 1 cup Ragi (finger millet) flour

  • ¼ cup Walnuts (crushed)

  • ¼ cup Pistachios (finely chopped)

  • ¼ cup Almonds (finely chopped)

  • ¼ cup Cashews (crushed)

  • 2 tbsp Seeds of your choice (flaxseeds, sesame, or sunflower)

  • ½ cup Soft dates (pitted & mashed)

  • 2 tbsp Ghee (clarified butter)

  • 1 tsp Cardamom powder

  • ¼ cup Grated coconut (optional)

👩‍🍳 How to Make Ragi Nuts & Seeds Ladoo:

1. Dry Roast the Ingredients
  • In a dry pan, roast the ragi flour on low flame until it gives off a nutty aroma (about 5 mins). Stir constantly to avoid burning.

  • Separately roast the chopped nuts and seeds until golden (2-3 mins). Set aside.

2. Prepare the Dates Paste
  • Blend the soft dates into a smooth paste. You can add a teaspoon of warm water if needed.

  • In a pan, heat 1 tbsp ghee, add the date paste, and cook for 2 minutes until soft and sticky.

3. Combine Everything
  • Into the date mix, add the roasted ragi flour, nuts, seeds, cardamom powder, and grated coconut.

  • Mix well while it’s still warm. Add the remaining 1 tbsp ghee to help bind it all together.

4. Roll the Ladoos
  • Once the mixture cools slightly, grease your palms with ghee and shape into small balls.

  • If too dry, add a few drops of warm milk or more ghee.

5. Store and Serve
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week, or refrigerate for 10–12 days.

  • These make a great snack for kids 8 months+ and even lactating moms!
